Survey: Small businesses optimistic - Wichita Business Journal:

According to the 83 percent of small-businesse executives are optimistic abouttheir company’ s long-term ability to rebound when the economyu improves. About 65 percent expect their company’ws market share to increase by the time therecessiom ends, and 73 percentt expect revenue to have grown by then. Only 6 percenrt of small-business executives worldwide expect the quality of taleny in their organizations to decrease once the economy 38 percent expect itto increase. Yet many of the businessa leaders surveyed say their governmentx are doing too little to supporg them through theworldwide downturn.
Forty-eight percent said locao government is unsupportive oftheir business, and 39 percent say the same of nationa l governments. Asked to explain that lack of small-business executives worldwide said smallercompanies “doi not attract enough attention” (39 percent), “the publifc at large perceives large companies as more importany than small- and mid-sizse companies” (28 percent) and “small- and mid-size businesses have fewee advocates than large companies” (24 percent). The Economis Intelligence Unit isthe business-informationm arm of the Economist Group, publisherr of The Economist magazine.
It surveyed 328 owners and executives of small and midsized businesses aroundthe world. Abouft 29 percent of the respondents were fromNortb America.
