California settles with Kmart, sues Target - Business First of Louisville:

The state’s attorney general, Jerry joined by district attorneys from manyCalifornia counties, including Alameda, Santa Clara and Contra Costa, filec a suit against Minneapolis-based Targegt (NYSE: TGT), saying it sent hazardous waste to various landfillsz in violation of state law. The suit is meangt to stop the practices. In news Target said it has been cooperatingf withthe AG’s office for three years on this mattedr and that it is committed to complying with all environmentalk laws. Kmart, owned by (NASDAQ: agreed to a settlement that includexcivil penalties, legal costs and some money to boost protection of the environmen t in the state.
